Last week I learned about a bill swiftly and silently flying through the US Senate. It is called the Enemy Billigerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010..
It allows for the detention and indefinite retention of any person considered an “enemy” of the US, in or out of the country. It includes the right to hold you without Miranda and without filing charges. Section 5 says:
“An individual, including a citizen of the United States, determined to be an unprivileged enemy belligerent under section 3(c)(2) in a manner which satisfies Article 5 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War may be detained without criminal charges and without trial for the duration of hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners in which the individual has engaged, or which the individual has purposely and materially supported, consistent with the law of war and any authorization for the use of military force provided by Congress pertaining to such hostilities.”
What are the hostilities the section is talking about? well, let’s break it down..We have a “War on Terrorism”. We have been seeing a rise in the terminology ( or the selling of the term…), since 2007 of Homegrown Terrorism.
Suddenly, Senators McCain and Liberman, ( among others) decide we need the above act. But where is the proof we need it? ( you ask…) what would it be used for???
Abracadabra!!!Suddenly, last Friday, Alex Jones of InfoWars.com was asked to appear on a special about him on CNN. A special that asks how Alex is involved in the coming violence, although Alex advocates nonviolent change. THEN!! Over the weekend we suddenly see the raiding of several Militias in the Midwest. Some of the people arrested were at a Funeral. They raided a funeral!!! Supposedly these Militia people had pipe bombs, etc. But much of the info that was “leaked” to the news on Sunday was from sealed paperwork that couldn’t be opened until Monday at the detention hearing, so how did the press know???
Suddenly we have REAL, Big Bad Homegrown Terrorists all over the Midwest; and the need for the bill that just happens to be waiting in the Senate.
But, hey, it all could be a coincidence….
